Arrived safely in Mexico
Great to be back in the sunny colourful land of Mexico, my second home now ... I was tempted to head for some tacos straight away!
Flying into Guadalajara at night is always an amazing sight; the city is huge, approx 4.3 million people - there was a sea of lights for what seemed like miles … so I arrived in Guadalajara airport safely - this time around the trip from New Zealand went without a problem.
Below was the excellent surprise welcome poster in my room ...
I just had to include this photo of the kiwi fruit and the Guadalajara sombrero which was on each of the tables at my welcome party - pretty cool.

For those who don’t know a kiwi is the colloquial name for New Zealand people, because our national bird the Kiwi, not because of the kiwifruit or kiwi as it is called in North America (NZ was one of the first counties to successfully commercialise and export the fruit, it was originally known as the Chinese Gooseberry).
This week I meet with the director of the mission and start planning for the next 6 months, looking forward to getting started - until next time!
